Since OpenWorkdesk requires no installation on the client side users can access their applications literally from everywhere. With Zero-Install Desktop Integration they can work directly on documents from the underlying ECM systems without the need to deal with complicated ECM terms. Yet the ECM systems have full control! Advanced Document Viewing quickly displays every document, regardless of format, size or origin through a common interface and automatically generates thumbnail pictures to facilitate the identification of documents when included in hit lists.

WeWebU OpenWorkdesk is the first choice of many organizations for transactional content management where maximum throughput and efficiency are key requirements. Although it comes with a pure web front-end it is as user friendly as a fat client: Grab & Drag allows the user to resize portions of the screen by simply grabbing a separator and drag it to the desired position. Drag & Drop of documents directly into OpenWorkdesk facilitates adding documents as well as auto-completion of drop-down lists or the auto-opening of the viewer with the newly added document. The pleasant user experience is completed by a folder tree that opens and closes smoothly as well as a hit list that loads pages dynamically, allows in-line editing of metadata, the reordering of columns, and the display of thumbnail previews of documents. At the same time OpenWorkdesk is compliant with section 508 of the US Rehabilitation Act which means that persons who are visually impaired can use it without restrictions.

WeWebU Zero-Install Desktop Integration

Imagine every employee of your organization could access documents stored in your Enterprise Content Management (ECM) system as easily as never before. Imagine your staff would find, open, edit and store documents of a wide range of formats in a multitude of applications without even realizing they were working in the ECM system. A beautiful dream? No, it is reality!

This is exactly what you get with WeWebU Zero-Install Desktop Integration. It makes working with ECM systems as easy as pie. It allows using your ECM system intuitively and with virtually no training effort from a wide range of desktop applications like Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat but also from open source programs like OpenOffice.

WeWebU Zero-Install Desktop Integration exposes parts of your ECM system as so called Direct Access Folders (DAF) which are shown as a network drive. This means that in Windows Explorer users can browse the folder structure and directly drag and drop documents from the ECM system to e.g. other folders in Windows Explorer, the Desktop or the attachment field of e-mails. Vice versa, they can store documents in the ECM system by just dragging and dropping them to the DAF. Opening documents is as easy as that: Users just click on the document in the DAF in Windows Explorer and it is opened in the respective desktop application or they navigate in the Open dialog of literally any desktop application to the folder and open the document.
